Addiction to Chaos

addicted to chaos

Is the value of your product or service is directly tied to how hard it is to produce, and how many hours it takes you to deliver?

Do you think that if you didn’t have to work as hard or put in as many hours, you couldn’t charge as much for your product or service?

Are there things you could implement in your business; people, products, or services that could alleviate the pressure and you keep finding reasons or excuses not to?

If you answered yes to any or all of those three questions… you might be addicted to chaos!

Addiction to Chaos Looks Like:

Chaos is a business that has outgrown its process and procedure and the experience and capacity of its leadership.

Chaos is a $10 million per year business operating on a $2 million per year process.

Addiction to Chaos Can Lead to:

  • Sky-high operating costs and low productivity
  • Skyrocketing labor and turnover costs
  • Super-high COGS and low profitability
Chaos steals money from your bank account!

How Do You Cure Your Addiction to Chaos?

Let’s start with the realization your business has to transform to grow. What got you here won’t get you there.

You can’t do more of what you’ve always done and expect to scale, and there aren’t enough hours in the day.

If you need to improve your process and procedure, do you have the people or capacity in the building to make it happen?  And, if you do, why haven’t they done it yet?

You can buy fancy software and tracking systems. If you don’t have people in the building who have the time, knowledge, and experience to manage them, they will be ineffective.

Start with Your Leadership

If you don’t have the experience and capacity in the building, you’ll have to go out and hire it. You’ll need to acquire leaders with more experience than you currently have in your business so they can find constraints and start removing them.

Chaos will always be a part of your growing business. Your goal should be to minimize it with experience and capacity.

One Final Question

If your business grew 20% tomorrow, would you be able to handle it? Are you afraid of that type of growth?
